Chelsea Natseway — Associate Director

Chelsea Natseway is a trombonist and music educator whose career blends performance, teaching, and collaboration. She believes music is a living, shared experience — something that can inspire, heal, and bring people together.

Chelsea is a graduate of Northern Arizona University, where she deepened both her technical skills and her passion for performance. Today, her versatility shines across many musical settings. She plays with multiple ensembles in the community, including the Kitsap Jazz Orchestra, Poulsbo Community Orchestra, Bremerton West Sound Symphony, Sequim City Band, and the Silverdale Hometown Band. Her love of storytelling through music has also led her to the world of musical theater, where she has performed in productions with the Central Kitsap Performing Arts Center, Kitsap Forest Theater, Ovation Performing Arts, and Flagstaff Community Theater. She even stepped into the world of film music, recording in Seattle for the 1925 silent film Varieté — a project that combined her love of history, performance, and creative exploration.

Chelsea is the Music Specialist at Silverwood School, where she introduces young learners to the wide, exciting world of music, fostering curiosity and creativity. She teaches brass at Ted Brown Music, working with students of all ages to develop not only their technical skills but also their confidence and joy in making music. Her teaching style is rooted in patience, encouragement, and the belief that every student has something unique to share.

In her role as Associate Director of the Silverdale Hometown Band, Chelsea strives to create an environment where music is for everyone — whether you’re a seasoned player, a new learner, or someone who simply loves to listen. She believes every performance is an opportunity to bring people together, celebrate community, and remind audiences that live music is a shared experience worth celebrating.
